Warsaw Chopin Airport sets a record with 6.5 million passengers served during the summer

In summer of 2024, from 21 June to 22 September, more than 6 million 576 thousand people checked in at Warsaw Chopin Airport, the Polish capital’s airport. The record number makes this summer an absolute record in the airport’s 90-year history.

The number represents 42% of the total number of passengers who travelled from Warsaw’s airport in 2024. The number of 2 million passengers per month was exceeded in both summer months for the first time in history.

The airport press release said that 78,248 travellers used the airport on Friday, 2 August, making the record for the number of passengers checked in on a single day.

The number of people using charter flights in August was also a record in the airport’s history. It now consists of 19% of all passengers.

The record numbers are 12% higher than the ones recorded in the pre-Covid 2019 statistics.
