The ex-US ambassador to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher said that Donald Trump understands the changing dynamics and considers Poland to be a new leader in Europe. She also declared she is ready to return to public service under the new US administration.
“I think our victory yesterday is really good news for Poland – which I can say with conviction because I know Donald Trump, I know Poland, and the Polish people themselves know what we have accomplished in our first term. Donald J. Trump knows that Poland is now our most important ally in NATO, Donald J. Trump understands that Poland is the new leader in Europe and he will show Poland the respect and attention it deserves and has earned,” Mosbacher told Polish Press Agency.
The former ambassador and a personal friend of the new US President-elect Donald Trump said he will deliver on his promise to end the war in Ukraine. In her opinion, he will do so “in a way that our adversaries understand that he is not afraid of them”.
“It’s not going to be that he’s just going to abandon Ukraine and give up its territory. Trump is not the type to give up. And when he makes deals, he does it decently. He would not be successful as a negotiator if each side was not happy. And he won’t be afraid of Putin and understands his aggression,” Mosbacher said.
“Whatever my role, I love Poland, I have it in my blood now, and whoever becomes the next president of Poland, I will do whatever I can to support the relationship between Poland and the United States,” the ex-ambassador said.
