Influencer to NATO chief: „Should other countries follow Poland’s lead on defence spending?”

A Polish internet influencer Nadia Długosz aka Nadjowa (623,000 followers on Instagram) posted a video in which she asked NATO General Secretary Mark Rutte whether other countries will be legally forced to increase their defence spending.

According to General Secretary Rutte’s answer for now there will be only political pressure made on other member states of the Alliance, although it is going to be “strong”.

In her post, Nadia Długosz also explained her recent interest in the defence and NATO areas.

You ask what I am doing here, so I hasten to answer! I learn I find out, I inquire, I question, I talk, I take notes, all so that I can tell you about the world with even more substance. Outreach is a responsibility – I still use it with great reserve, and I use it passionately for a higher purpose than just sharing my everyday life, which is not very relevant at this scale,” the post said.

The conversation with Mr Mark Rutte was the highlight, but not the core, of this visit – for in two days we had the opportunity to talk to representatives of a wide variety of departments – from communications to military, to defence, to those responsible for organising the next NATO Summit in The Hague” the post added.
