All COVID requirements for entering the UK are to be lifted from the 18th of March

All other COVID travel requirements, including the Passenger Locator Form and All Inbound Testing, will be waived for travel to the UK from the 18th of March at 4 am.

“These changes are made possible by the immunisation program and mean more freedom before Easter,” Transport Minister Grant Shapps wrote in a Twitter publication.

Since the 11th of February, the only obligation for the vaccinated has been to fill out the Passenger Locator Form.

In turn, the unvaccinated are still required to show a negative test (PCR or antigen) performed a maximum of 48h after arrival.

Prior to the 11th of February, the unvaccinated had to undergo a pre-arrival test, two post-arrival tests, and even a 10-day quarantine.

A few days later, England and Northern Ireland removed the last COVID-related requirements, including the obligation for infected people to self-isolate.

Few requirements are still in place in Scotland and Wales, but they are to be lifted by the end of March as well.

As one good news never comes alone, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, and Heathrow Airport (inside terminals), are all expected to lift mask requirements from this Wednesday (16th of March).
