British fighter jets deployed in Poland for NATO air policing mission

The United Kingdom deployed six Eurofighter Typhoon jets in airforce base Malbork, northern Poland, to monitor the airspace of NATO’s eastern flank, the British Embassy has informed in a statement.

According to the statement, the ongoing Operation Chessman, which is a part of the NATO Air Policing mission, would last until August 2025.

The embassy wrote that the mission „highlights the UK’s unwavering commitment to cooperate with Poland in enhancing security in Europe.”

The 22nd Air Base in Malbork also hosts Swedish Gripen fighters that participate in Operation Chessman.
