British Revolut introduces BLIK payments for users

The British fintech company Revolut, which offers multi-currency accounts for users across the world, decided to introduce the BLIK payments, known to all Polish banking app users. The Blik payments allow instant banking operations based on the telephone numbers of users and many more options, including payment solutions for small entrepreneurs.

Revolut customers can now use BLIK to pay in Polish e-commerce, a growing number of foreign shopping platforms, at payment terminals in stationery shops, as well as withdraw cash from over 20,000 ATMs in the country.

For the latter operations, a fee of 2% of the amount withdrawn is charged, subject to a minimum fee of PLN 5 per withdrawal. This applies to all Revolut subscription plans.

To make a BLIK payment, update the Revolut app to the latest version and tap the BLIK icon on the app’s home screen.

The 6-digit code that appears should be entered at the payment terminal at checkout, on the payment page of an online shop or at an ATM and validated. A notification will arrive on your phone asking for final confirmation of the transaction.

We are happy that BLIK has joined other payment methods in Poland such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Revolut’s one-time virtual cards, which our customers use daily. We want our global offer to include valued and widely used local solutions – such as BLIK. Transactions using the 6-digit BLIK code are becoming available to more than 4 million customers in Poland. To use them, you need to update and open the Revolut app, select the Polish currency, head to the BLIK section and generate the code,” says Michał Szczotka, manager for alternative payment methods at Revolut.
