The fate of the former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, Gen. Zaluzhny was widely discussed also in the context of his alleged conflict with President Zelenskyy. Now we know that the Ukrainian statesman remained among the top rank of the country’s diplomatic staff, but away from Kiev.
Former commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Valery Zaluzhny has taken up the post of Ukrainian ambassador to the UK, the press service of the Ukrainian embassy in London informed in a press release.
The foreign ministry of Ukraine stressed that the Ukrainian embassy will continue to work on strengthening bilateral relations with the UK to help Ukraine’s victory in the war against Russia.
On 8th February Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski signed decrees removing Zaluzhny from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. His candidacy to the diplomatic post in the UK was agreed in May.
