The American giant Google is investing close to PLN 2.7 billion (GBP 473 million) in the Warsaw HUB skyscraper complex located in Warsaw’s Wola district. Google already leased space and located a cloud technology development centre last year in the Warsaw HUB (which consists of three high-rise buildings).
The value of investments in the purchase of buildings and further development of the centre represents à record high single office transaction on the Polish market.
Along with the acquisition and further development of The Warsaw HUB complex, Google will create space for 2,500 employees in its Warsaw offices.
In October 2021, the portal 300gospodarka we reported that Google has already leased a dozen or so floors in the 130-meter skyscraper of the Warsaw Hub complex in Warsaw.
The Warsaw Hub complex is already fully leased. In addition to Google, it already hosts companies such as Cushman & Wakefield, Getin Noble Bank Standard Chartered, and Atradius.
Google employs over 1,000 people in Poland, including over 600 engineers and software engineers. The Warsaw engineering centre is the largest centre for the development of Google cloud technologies in Europe.
In 2021, the company launched the Google Cloud region in Warsaw, serving customers from Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, and at the same time becoming the first global provider of cloud services to open such an investment in the region.
Last week, Google also announced that it will support non-governmental organizations working for refugees and refugees from Ukraine who come to Poland with the amount of PLN 40 million (GBP 7 million).
