LOT airlines will connect Kraków directly to New York

Last weekend, the first LOT Boeing 787 Dreamliner from New York’s Newark airport landed at the Kraków Airport.

Flights departing from the USA will take place on Fridays, and on Saturday’s the other way around.

The connection between Kraków and New York is expected to be launched in summer, but LOT hopes its popularity will allow the continuation of this new transatlantic connection in winter as well.

The president of Kraków Airport, Radosław Włoszek, expressed his hope that the new connection would contribute to the reconstruction of an important segment of the economy of the capital of the Małopolska voivodeship and the entire region, which is tourism.

New York is a very important business, cultural and social centre in the world, so we are very happy that this connection is being launched” – he told the Polish press.

The Kraków Airport is the second-largest airport in Poland in terms of the number of passengers handled, and also the largest regional airport.

Polish Minister of Infrastructure, Andrzej Adamczyk, also expressed his joy to the media, by stating that the airport of Kraków is “constantly developing.” He views the recently-announced connection between New York as “especially important in the current situation, when we are trying to rebuild air transport after the pandemic.

The current Kraków Airport summer flight schedule includes 43 connections to 99 cities in 33 countries. They are provided by 20 lines – both traditional and low-cost carriers.
