Millions of dollars await the Polish national team in Qatar

The Polish national team made it out of the group stage at the World Cup for the first time since 1986. And God knows it was laborious… In addition to the great sports achievement it represents, Poland will also enjoy financial benefits from this result.

The White and Reds will be awarded over 4 million dollars (GBP 3.3 million or PLN 17.9 million) for reaching the 1/8 finals. This sum is to be added to the 9 million dollars 40 that each team in the World Cup received for mere participation. In other words, Poland will have received at least GBP 10.7 million (PLN 58.3 million).

It’s worth keeping in mind that financial FIFA bonuses are awarded for completing individual stages rather than based on wins or draws.
The eight teams that will make it to the quarter-finals will receive an additional 4 million dollars, thereby earning USD 17 million in this competition alone.

Even higher sums are to be distributed for the final four. USD 25 million await the team finishing 4th in the tournament, USD 27 million will go to the winner of the so-called “small final”, and USD 30 million will be awarded to the runner-up.

Finally, the world champions of 2022 will earn as much as USD 4.2 million. This represents nearly 10% of the total prize money (USD 440 million) dedicated to each team participating in the tournament.

The White and Reds will play for a place in the quarter-finals of the World Cup against France on Sunday at 3PM (UK time).
