Polish PM Donald Tusk has initiated the first cabinet reshuffle of his government since assuming office five months ago, appointing four new ministers.
„The ministers who are bidding farewell today have performed their task effectively,” Tusk stated during a press conference. He continued by claiming that is was “time to put things in order” following the alleged mess left behind by the Law and Justice government.

Among those relinquishing their posts are Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz (culture), Marcin Kierwiński (interior), Borys Budka (state assets), and Krzysztof Hetman (development and technology). Their resignations come as no surprise, having been announced last month upon their candidacy for the European elections.
Sienkiewicz, Kierwiński, and Budka are standing for Tusk’s centrist Civic Coalition (KO), while Hetman represents the centre-right Polish People’s Party (PSL), also part of Tusk’s ruling coalition.
Tomasz Siemoniak, a seasoned politician who previously served as defence minister in Tusk’s former government, will replace Kierwiński as interior minister, concurrently continuing his role overseeing security services.
Hanna Wróblewska, who boasts 11 years of experience as director of Warsaw’s Zachęta National Gallery of Art, will assume the position of culture minister. Meanwhile, economist Jakub Jaworowski, formerly associated with Tusk’s chancellery, will succeed Budka at the ministry of state assets. Krzysztof Paszyk, head of PSL’s parliamentary caucus, will take over as development minister.
