Polish Presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki meets US President Trump

The White House has announced that US President Donald Trump met with Karol Nawrocki, a civic candidate in the upcoming Polish presidential election, who runs with the support of the biggest opposition party, conservative Law and Justice.

The meeting was first reported via the White House’s official account on platform X, which stated, „President Donald J. Trump welcomes Polish presidential candidate Karol Nawrocki to the Oval Office.”

Karol Nawrocki also commented on the encounter on the same platform, describing it as a “great meeting” with Trump.

„It was an honour to discuss the bright future of Polish-American relations,” he wrote.

In an interview with Polish private TV broadcaster Republika, Nawrocki said that the conversation with Trump touched upon the Polish elections. According to Nawrocki, Trump told him, „You will win.”

He interpreted the remark as a gesture of support: „I took it as a kind of wish for success,” he explained.

Nawrocki also noted that the discussion included references to President Andrzej Duda and his friendship with Trump.

„It was evident from the conversation that this relationship is important to President Trump,” he said.

During a press conference before the meeting, Nawrocki said that he was not seeking any intervention from the Trump administration regarding the elections in Poland, which he claimed are not being conducted fairly.

„I do not intend to appeal for any external intervention in the matter of the Polish elections (…). I am not here to intervene in that regard,” he declared.

Karol Nawrocki, who is backed by the Law and Justice (PiS) party, is scheduled to visit Chicago, where on Saturday he will participate in the annual 3rd May Constitution Day Parade.
