A mother of twins living in Bridgwater now works at Hinkley Point C nuclear site. Monika Czyż-Grzesik was honoured as one of the best engineering construction talents in Britain.
“Monika Czyż-Grzesik, who works for Cavendish Nuclear as a trade labourer for the MEH Alliance on the Hinkley Point C project, was named ECITB New Entrant of the Year at the 12th annual ECI Training and Development Awards in London,” the Somersetlive.co.uk informed.
The award ceremony was organised by the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB), in honour of the rising stars in industry.
The event was held in One Marylebone and was hosted by the Chair of the ECITB Innov8 Group Chinwe Odili.
Monika Czyż-Grzesik was chosen from three other contestants for the award, who have completed an ECITB new entrant programme within the previous 12 months.
Monika was able to achieve success after moving from the UK to Poland thanks to her outstanding resilience.
Monika Czyż-Grzesik is a 38-year-old mother of 10-year-old twins. She put a lot of effort into studying in the Hinkley Support Operative Bronze Programme to work on the nuclear power station site in Somerset.
“Winning the award is motivating. I can see all that hard work was worthwhile. I was working in a school canteen to fit around school hours to help take care of my children, but when they reached the age of nine a year ago I decided to move back to a career path and try something new. That’s why I decided to give it a go with Hinkley Point C. I can say it was the best decision of my life, it’s been great,” Monika said after receiving the prize.
