Together we will keep Europe safe,” Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk wrote on social media, presenting a photo with UK PM Keir Starmer.

The Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk visited the United Kingdom, to participate and represent Poland at the 4th European Political Community Summit, which is being held at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.

In his post on X, the UK Prime Minister wrote “Today we reset our relationship with Europe.”

The European Political Community is a meeting of EU and allied countries leaders initiated in 2022 by French President Emmanuel Macron after the Russian aggression on Ukraine to discuss cooperation and development in Europe. The participants include leaders of Turkey, Albania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, Switzerland, the UK, and international organisations such as NATO.

This year the leaders are expected to discuss further military and financial support for Ukraine, future security challenges and illegal migration.

Experts say the meeting of the UK PM with Donald Tusk seems symbolic as the latter was a fierce foe of Great Britain while presiding over the European Council, during the post-Brexit negotiation process. Mr Tusk often produced critical comments about the UK decision and assured the process wouldn’t be easy for the country.
