Robert Lewandowski scored his 700th career goal!

On Saturday 28 September, FC Barcelona defeated Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou (2-1). The Blaugrana’s victory was marked by yet another milestone reached by its prolific striker Robert Lewandowski. The Pole found the net for the 700th time of his illustrious career.

Years pass and “Lewy” keeps on doing what he does best. At 37, the Polish superstar not only performs in one of the best clubs in the world but also continues to write the history of the game. He just became the seventh player in football history (and only active one besides Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo) to reach the landmark of 700 career goals.

The Polish finisher is now among the best scorers in the history of the Catalonian giant. In this regard, he equalled the total number of goals scored for Barça as Neymar but in 32 less games! Simply incredible. “RL9” has scored over 100 goals with three different clubs (Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona) and could even reach that landmark (86) with Poland’s national team towards the end of his career.

Surrounded by young players, Robert “El Profesor” Lewandowski proves every week that age is indeed just à number. He does not show signs of slowing down. Although regularly benched to start the games lately, he still finds a way to put the ball in the back of the net as he has been doing for the last two decades.

His coach, Hansi Flick, seems to have found the perfect recipe for bringing out the best of Lewandowski’s potential. Under Flick, the Pole scored 128 times and provided 26 assists in only 129 games.
