The establishment of a new trilateral format between the UK, Poland, and Ukraine has been confirmed

In the midst of current geopolitical tensions in Eastern Europe caused by the Kremlin’s aggressive policy in the region, British Minister of Foreign Affairs Liz Truss announced the establishment of a new trilateral cooperation format composed of the UK, Poland, and Ukraine.

We are fostering new trilateral ties with Poland and Ukraine,” British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss announced on the 21st of January during a speech at the Lowy Institute in Sydney.

We are creating a new format of political cooperation in Europe with the participation of Ukraine, Great Britain, and Poland,” announced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a  recent speech to the Verkhovna Rada.

The British have been the first to send soldiers to the Polish-Belarusian border. They quickly signalled to Europe that Poland needed help. In the midst of Lukashenka’s hybrid war based on illegal immigration, London and Warsaw united and tightened their ties.

In late November 2021, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki paid a visit to his British counterpart Boris Johnson in Downing Street. The latter emphasised that he appreciated Morawiecki’s visit and his great willingness to cooperate.

In addition, the British Prime Minister stated that this is “the perfect moment” for Great Britain to engage in cooperation with Poland and that it is “high time” to stand side by side.

London and Warsaw are now sending weapons to Kyiv. All three countries are ready for an international alliance. Even though it may remain strictly political and military in nature, it could soon be expanded to include trade and economic issues.
