Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra at Cadogan Hall

Audiences in the United Kingdom will have the opportunity to hear the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra live during its 160th international tournée, with performances in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham and Hull. The Warsaw symphony orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Krzysztof Urbański, Artistic Director of the National Philharmonic, will perform some of the finest works of Polish music.

The centrepiece of the tour programme will be Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21 by Frédéric Chopin, performed by internationally acclaimed Romanian pianist Alexandra Dariescu.

The Polish musicians are always a big hit at Cadogan Hall; tonight they also share a lost masterpiece by the postwar Polish composer Grażyna Bacewicz. Hear it, and feel your heart melt.

Tchaikovsky never did anything by halves, and he poured all his heartache, his sorrow and his matchless gift for melody into a final symphony like no other. Don’t be misled by the name: ‘Pathétique’ means ‘full of feelings’ and when Krzysztof Urbański conducts the Warsaw Philharmonic, that’s exactly what they’ll bring – as well as glowing colours and some of the greatest tunes even Tchaikovsky ever composed.
