Thousands of Polish films have been made available to watch for free online as part of a project funded by the EU and Poland’s Ministry of Culture.
The new service includes 160 feature films, 71 documentaries, as well as nearly 500 animated films and TV shows, including old-school cartoons such as “Bolek i Lolek” or “Reksio”.
The project also features over 3,000 episodes of the Polish Film Chronicle, a newsreel shown in cinemas before films from the late years of WWII until the mid-1990s.

All the films which were recently made available on 35mm.online website have English subtitles. They include works of famous directors such as Andrzej Wajda (“Man of Iron”, “Man of Marble”…) and Krzysztof Kieślowski (“Three Colours trilogy”, “Concert of Requests”…), among others.
The thousands of Polish films can also be watched via an Android app for smart TVs and an app for Android and iOS phones.
The project is run by one of Poland’s oldest film studios: the Documentary and Feature Film Studios (WFDiF). It is funded by the EU with over PLN 75 million (£13.3 million) and the Polish Ministry of Culture with PLN 13.5 million (£2.4 million).
