Polish scientists invented the battery of the future

A group of Rzeszów-based scientists forming “The Batteries” is revolutionising the world of batteries. They have created what can be put as the battery of the 21st century.

As it can be read on their website, The Batteries aim to produce advanced batteries using innovative manufacturing technology. In their own words,  their novel approach towards production allows them to “create thin film batteries at a reasonable cost”.

The Batteries have come up with a quite incredible technical prowess. They created a new type of battery which allows you to charge your phone in less than 8 minutes.

As Polish journalist, lawyer and innovative geniuses’ hunter, Doctor Maciej Kawecki explains it on social media, the Rzeszów team somehow managed to make their battery “150 times cheaper than the cheapest” battery existing so far.

As Kawecki puts it in a recent article,  Polish scientists from The Batteries developed and patented the effective and cheap production of thin-film batteries using vacuum evaporation enhanced with high-density plasma.

Scientists from The Batteries ensure that the charging time would be only 8 minutes from 0 to 100%, and in addition, they are able to withstand a large temperature range: from -40⁰C […] up to 170⁰C” – he explains.

The Batteries are currently in the process of creating a pilot factory in Jasionka near Rzeszów, where components purchased around the world are assembled. It is to have a capacity of over 1MW per year, which will enable the yearly production of tens of thousands of batteries.
