Polish non-alcoholic beer had wrong labels, contained 5.5% alcohol

A Polish beer company Żywiec decided to remove a batch of non-alcoholic beverages due to a label mistake. The non-alcoholic drink actually contained 5.5% alcohol. The situation could pose a threat to the lives and safety of the consumers.

Thanks to rapid action just after the mistake was identified, the Żywiec group was able to contact trade all facilities that received the batch of products so they could remove the remaining beer from their offers.

The company launched a campaign to inform consumers about the labelling mistake. The information was placed next to the beer shelves in stores that could sell the product. All details were placed on the company website.

The Polish State Sanitary Inspectorate monitors the process of removing the product’s batch from the market and information management of the producer.
