“5 out of 7 leading OpenAI researchers working on O1, possibly a historically groundbreaking AI model, are Polish. This may be one of the biggest Polish contributions to global science and progress ever,” Marcin Piątkowski, a Polish economic scholar wrote on X. 

Mr Piątkowski presented a screenshot of an OpenAI leadership chart, presenting the most important developers, and among them, 5 with Polish names: Jakub Pachocki, Łukasz Kaiser, Szymon Sidor, Jerry Tworek and Wojciech Zaremba.

The information also features the statistics for the new O1 model that the OpenAI engineers create. 

The new model is considered one of the most capable and aligned AI models ever created.
