A recent study uncovers the primary tourist hotspot in Poland

The primary draw for tourists in Poland has been uncovered in a recent analysis. A new study has been conducted to determine the towns and regions that deliver the most enjoyable tourist experiences.

“Tourist values in counties and their surroundings” the report by the Central Statistical Office, GUS, aimed to identify the towns and areas providing the most satisfying tourist experience based on several crucial factors. These factors included tourist facilities, environmental quality, crime rates and safety, as well as cultural points of interest.

By applying these criteria, GUS was able to pinpoint precisely which areas in Poland offered the most favourable overall experiences. Topping the list with a score of 63.5 on the index was Warsaw, while the Nowy Sącz district secured second place with a score of 57.5.

Kraków, traditionally viewed as Poland’s main tourist destination, claimed the third spot with a score of 53.7.

The Top Ten rankings also featured the Kłodzki province, scoring 53.3, the Nowy Targ region with a score of 51.1, and the Tatry county at 44.2.

Next in line were Bieszczady at 43.2, Gdańsk city with a score of 42.2, and lastly, Lesko county and Kołobrzeg county sharing a combined score of 41.8.

According to GUS, Poland’s rural regions are often more adept at catering to tourists compared to many of its more renowned urban centres.

Despite the absence of the cultural offerings found in major cities, tourists were strongly drawn to these counties for their natural attractions.

These recent indicators serve as another accolade for Warsaw, which earlier in the year was named Europe’s Best Destination.

Outperforming 21 other prominent European cities, the Polish capital was praised for being „beautiful, welcoming, environmentally conscious, progressive, and ideal for a family city getaway,” with its shopping and cultural offerings particularly emphasised.

With a record-breaking number of votes, Warsaw’s victory, coupled with the recent findings from GUS, solidifies the city’s remarkable evolution into a favoured destination for tourists.
