Nick Horseman is an Englishman from Hampshire who has made several trips to Ukraine to help the local population affected by the ongoing war provoked by Russia.
Today, he collaborates with Poles whom he helped to convert an old farm into homes for refugees fleeing the war. According to him, up to 1,200 people could be housed within the two blocks.
The former farm is located next to the city of Jarosław, right next to the Polish border with Ukraine.
During his last visit to Poland, Mr Horseman explained the importance of “creating long-term residential homes for displaced women and children who do not have connections further into Europe and want to stay close to Ukraine.”
„This is a long-term solution to a problem that won’t go away, this is the effect of the mass movement of people across the border,” – he added.
He also issued a plea for labourers to travel to Poland in order to help with the renovation work.
„Whatever skills people have, they can be put to good use […] There is so much to be done,” – he underlined.
