Poland launched a nationwide humanitarian aid coordination platform to help refugees

During a press conference that took place on Monday, Michał Dworczyk, Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, emphasised that “Russia brutally invaded Ukraine, civilians are murdered, infrastructure is destroyed, and thousands of people are deprived of the possibility of a normal life.

We are organising help [for Ukrainian refugees] from the first day of the war,” he underlined.

Dworczyk recalled that in the first days of the Russian attack, this aid was mainly carried out by government agencies and that humanitarian aid transports were carried out by the Government Strategic Reserves Agency.

However, every day more and more NGOs, local governments, and people of good will join […] and try to help […]

In addition to the existing website pomagamukrainie.gov.pl, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister launched a central, government platform for humanitarian aid coordination.

The solidarity with refugees arriving by the hundreds of thousands from Ukraine can be seen virtually everywhere across Poland. It is estimated that over 20 million Poles already got involved in providing some kind of aid or support to them across the country.
