Polish student wins International Chemistry Olympics in Saudi Arabia

Michał Lipiec is a student at the August Witkowski High School in Kraków. He became known after receiving medals at the International Science Olympiads. Just last year Michał won a gold medal in chemistry in Zurich, a silver medal in physics in Tokyo and a bronze medal in mathematics in Chiba. He also received three medals from previous editions of the International Chemistry Olympiad: gold, silver and bronze.

Michał is graduating from high school and will soon have to choose his university. Pole has received official study offers and scholarships from prestigious American and British universities: Harvard University, MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Cambridge University and Caltech, the California Institute of Technology.

He also runs an online Chemistry Club, where he helps other students prepare for the Chemistry Olympiad on a public channel.

Importantly, he also finds time for other interests, including intensive sports training – he has taken part in, among other things, the half marathon and the Polish Mountain Running Championships. We are proud that Michael is a student of our High School,” the school said in a statement.
